Drawing ever closer to show 100. Number 99 is a special show featuring the annual joining of forces by VirginWorlds (Brent and Brenden) and Massively Online Gamer (Ryan and Gary). As you would expect we talk about MMOs, we cuss, we talk about non-MMOs, we make references to obscure pop culture, we talk about console games, we carpet bomb the podcast with f-bombs, and we spend some time making fun of each other. Not your typical VirginWorlds Podcast, but that is what makes it fun. If you're adverse to intense language, stray away. If you're a fan of both shows, you won't want to miss it.

VirginWorlds Podcast #79

The show you've surely been waiting for all year, this year's top ten list, has arrived. Last year
we ranked the top ten MMOs of the past decade (much to the dismay of
some) and this year we decided to flip it over and look forward to the
top ten most anticipated/important/cool/innovative MMOs on the horizon.
This year Brenden and I decided to let a couple more guys in on the secrets of our scientific methods. Michael from MMOGNation and Darren from SUWT and The Common Sense Gamer joined us for the fun.

And
now I must do something I've never (ok, rarely) felt compelled to do
before. Apologize for a little audio snafu. Turns out that when the
talking to 3 other people at once and trying to record my part of the
conversation - I should NOT use a crappy old laptop. This resulted in a
little skipping on my tracks now and then. Really sucks. If you're
wondering what that game we're talking about is that got blurred out -
it's Age of Conan. Other than that you'll find the audio quality to be
pristine.

Enjoy.

VirginWorlds Podcast #60 - GDC Day Five (Part 2)

An odd show this week. I decided to take a week off, but still am releasing a 50 minute show. That makes no sense. I couldn't very well leave you empty handed could I? Of course not.

Here is a brief intro regarding the first year of the podcast, followed by two in-depth interviews from GDC. First we talk to Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment about Stargate Worlds. This is a very detailed look at what you can expect from this upcoming title. Following that we had a candid discussion with the folks from Netdevil. They told us about their new FPS game Warmonger and then we discussed the Lego MMO, and finally you will have an answer as to why Auto Assault isn't on the XBox 360. The answer is not what I expected to hear!

Enjoy.

VirginWorlds is a weekly news podcast covering Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games (MMORPGs) such as World of Warcraft, EverQuest, Guild Wars, City of Heroes, Eve Online, Vanguard, and many many more.
Day three at the Game Developer's Conference.
Mark Jacobs from EA Mythic granted an excellent interview to
VirginWorlds today. We started with no real agenda and ended up with
some fantastic insight into EA Mythic and Warhammer Online. Afterwards,
I spent some quality time with Monty Sharma from Vivox who showed me the
latest and greatest in MMO voice communication. Colin Dwan and Lee Hammock from
Icarus Studios took me on a tour of Fallen Earth, the post-apocalyptic
action-MMO. The day was wrapped up neatly by a panel populated by the
kings of the MMO world. Don't miss this show!
